Samsung Still Champion, Huawei precede Microsoft

Who's largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world today? The latest report from Strategy Analytics said Samsung is still the champion. While Huawei to make a breakthrough by overtaking Microsoft.
Market research in the second quarter 2015 from Strategy Analytics combines sales of feature phones and smartphones. Samsung in one position has a market share of 20.5% with sales of 89 million units. Somewhat down from last year's 95.3 million units.
In the second position there is only the Apple smartphone sales, reaching 10.9% market share with sales of 47.5 million units. Increase from the same period last year with sales of 35.2 million units.
Ranking third place was the Chinese mobile phone vendors, Huawei has a market share of 7% and sales of 30.6 million units, up from 20.6 million units. Huawei overtook Microsoft is now in the fourth position with 6.4% market share and sales of 27.8 million units.
Microsoft helped sales of Nokia phones in the lower classes were still good. But their sales dropped dramatically from the amount of 50.3 million units last year.
The Xiaomi was ranked fifth with a market share of 4.6% and sales of 19.8 million units. Rising from 15.2 million units in 2014.


"Samsung has been to stabilize the volume of sales in the high end segment, but in the lower class facing intense challenges from Asian rivals like Huawei," said Woody Oh from Strategy Analytics
