4 Unique Business astronauts can sleep soundly in space

4 Unique Business astronauts can sleep soundly in space

On Earth, the bed is a routine activity that is very easily done by most people. Yet another story in space, astronauts have to do anything special to be a beautiful dream.

As told by the former head of the STS-117 mission on the space station ISS, CJ Rick Sturckow. Rick said that if astronauts could not sleep arbitrarily in the ISS. Given there is no gravity, astronauts can drift and hit a lot of equipment when not accidentally fall asleep. So, astronauts Rick should do these things.

1. Sleeping bag tied wear

To prevent dangerous things happen, ISS is equipped with a special device in the form of specially designed sleeping bag to sleep in space. The author is a recognized Russian scientists.

The sleeping bag that can be moved and is equipped with four straps that will be associated with existing safeguards in the ISS. By doing so, his position will not change.

"We have a Russian-made sleeping bags that only needs to be tied at the four corners somewhere in the ISS. It can prevent us from floating during sleep," said Rick.

2. Select a bed near the ceiling

American astronauts also have special tips that can sleep more easily, choosing to sleep in the room near the ceiling. Why?

According to Rick, the position of the ceiling near the air conditioner or air-conditioning. Wind gusts of AC rated could help Rick continue to receive supply of oxygen and throw away the carbon dioxide he exhales. It is important to remember in the ISS, oxygen is the most needed items.

3. Wear jeans to hats

However, sleeping near the air conditioner can not be done by all astronauts. Therefore, many of which turned out to feel the space was very cold. Rick also recognizes that many astronauts are willing to sleep by using layered clothing (even cap) just to keep warm during sleep in a sleeping bag.

Interestingly, while asleep in space, the head would remain upright even if the astronauts had fallen asleep. Yes, despite stumbles, astronauts will head back upright due to the absence of gravity. It's similar to when you are trying to 'lay down' while swimming.

4. Read the book

Rick tells the book is one of the 'soporific' most efficacious for astronauts. Almost all the night ends with a reading acknowledged.

Interestingly, there are unique events when he was asleep after reading a book. When the book was accidentally released from his hands, then the book will not go anywhere. The book will remain suspended in sampping Rick until he woke up. Once again, all thanks to the absence of gravity.
