Successfully breached the Pentagon, it acquired Russian hackers
On 25 July, Russian hackers launched an attack against one of the safest places in the world, the Pentagon. And yesterday (06/08), the US government officially announced to the public impact of the attack.
According to the government report, the attack was an impact on the 4000 Pentagon employees. Fortunately, the attack was not targeting the Pentagon data centers, but the Pentagon employee email server.
Russia due to hacker attacks, the Pentagon had to spend days to clean their computer networks from viruses or other vulnerabilities. Because of the severity of the attack, the Pentagon said that if their email system will be completely safe at the end of this week.
On the other hand, the hackers did not go home empty-handed. They bagged regular data shared automatically on thousands of Internet sites related to the email server Pentagon. In addition, there is a possibility of some email Pentagon employees also had been stolen.
Interestingly, rumors that blow from the government side said that if the hacking is done by hackers associated with the Russian government.
"The attack was clearly carried out by the government (of Russia)", said an employee of the US government, Business Insider, (07/08).
This is also not the first time Russian hackers attacked the Pentagon. At the beginning of this year, they were caught trying to access confidential data Pentagon. In addition to the Pentagon, also known Russian hackers broke into the email system of the US Defense Department.
