Smartphone is a major cause trouble concentrating on the road

A new study reveals alarming statistics on the causes of the disruption of the concentration of motorists in teenagers. Again, the smartphone becomes the greatest cause distract motorists while driving.

As many as 88 percent of teens who consider themselves to be a safe driver, admitted using smartphone applications on the highway. Most smartphone apps shift is social media.


In addition to social media applications that interfere with the rider teenagers, 37 percent of teens surveyed admitted to texting while driving a vehicle. The survey was conducted by Liberty Mutual Insurance and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) involving 1,622 students in grade 11 and 12 in different countries.


"The teens will be more at risk when driving a motor vehicle because they rely heavily on their electronic devices (smartphones). This can disrupt concentration when driving," said Dr. William, Ph.D., a scientist at the Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety.


To raise awareness to teen driving, the role of parents is also very necessary that their children know the dangers of influence on the way smartphone application.


"Teens will have a higher risk, because they are not always ready to deal with all the complexities on the highway. The disorder may also be caused due to fatigue and lack of driving experience. It's very important for parents to talk with their children about safety when driving, "added Dr. William.
