Protect Android, Google and Samsung provide monthly security update

More recently, the Android OS shocked by the most dangerous bugs in history, namely Stagefright. With the bug, a hacker could take over Android gadget to send a multimedia message (MMS).

In response, Samsung, as the company launched many Android smartphones announced that it will implement a new process for sending security updates every month to users.


"With the recent security issues, we have to think of approaches to get the security updates more timely. Because the software continue to be exploited in new ways, quick process to provide security patches, it is very important to protect the user," said Dong Jin Koh, Executive VP of Samsung.


Google, the company that creates its own Android is also under a lot of pressure on Stagefright bugs that exploit OS makes. Now, Google has strengthened the idea that security is a priority for the company.


"Security continues to be a top priority. Therefore, we will provide an update devices every month to make and keep Android users stay safe," said Google.


Google will send monthly updates for various devices. For the beginning, Google gave the latest update to the Nexus. As for other devices, Android manufacturers will release a patch via the Android Open Source Project.


Not to be outdone by Google, Samsung also in talks with operators around the world to enable the delivery of Internet-connected patch if found vulnerabilities in smartphone Galaxy.
