Got a new Intel Storage Technology Super Fast
Collaboration Intel and Micron have new technologies in data storage solutions are claimed to be more dense, stronger and faster than those available today. The solution is 3D Xpoint, namely non-volatile memory is 1,000 times faster than NAND.
NAND is a chip architecture currently used in nearly all storage-based flash chips, such as memory cards and solid state drives (SSD). According to Intel researchers, this new technology can make a memory chip that is 10 times denser than conventional chips.
"For decades, many industries have been looking for ways to reduce the time lag between the processor and the data in order to produce faster analysis time," said Intel VP Rob Crooke in a statement.
Crooke added that a new class of non-volatile memory is able to achieve these objectives, and could change the map of memory and storage solutions, reported detikINET from The Verge, Wednesday (29/07/2015).
Not clear the appropriate use of this new memory chip. But clearly this memory will be suitable to perform data analysis in real time, which requires data access speed is very fast.
This chip is expected to satisfy gamers, because it will shorten the access time game data stored in the storage. This brand-new chip not only fast, but also to be able to survive a period of time long enough.
