Joining Malaysians ISIS The More
The number of families from Malaysia to join militant groups, ISIS is increasing. Currently, at least eight families from Malaysia joined ISIS in Syria.
Assistant Director Head of Counter-Terrorism Division Malaysian Special Branch Bukit Aman, SAC Datuk Ayub Khan Mydin Pitchay claimed five children aged between one and 12 years were brought by their parents to participate ISIS joined forces to Syria.
"The concern is when the effect of ISIS into a virus that can affect the family to migrate. It's been eight families to Syria," Job said, quoted by Malaysian news agency, Bernama, Wednesday (4/3).
"The influence of ideological and training provided to members of ISIS deemed too strong that no member of Malaysia has issued a warning that they would kill their families if they joined the Malaysian government in trying to oppose ISIS," said Job.
"The warning was not only given to the government but their family members as well. One of them is now in Syria, has issued a warning to the family via Facebook that he would kill her mother, father and siblings who joined the government in opposing ISIS," said Job.
Job express language so far at least 500 Malaysian Facebook account identified to promote, recruit and encourage Malaysians to fight with ISIS in Syria.
According to Job, there is no benchmark to indicate that the involvement of Malaysian citizens with ISIS has declined despite numerous arrests and operations that have been done by the government.
In one operation, which was launched on Tuesday (3/3), as many as 71 people allegedly linked to ISIS arrested, the most in all operations so far.
Job assess most Malaysians go to Syria using their own money by selling their personal property such as houses, cars, motorcycles and so on, including making personal loans.
However, there are some people who went to Syria with sponsored.
Currently, Job said, there are 61 Malaysians were detected in Syria to join ISIS, 10 of whom are women.
"61 people, including young children around 14 years old who joined family members there ... while the number of deaths of Malaysians in Syria since last year reached seven people," said Job.
The most frightening threat, continued Job, is when the militants back to Malaysia and form a network to overthrow the government.
Because the ideology embraced militant Islam is the formation of the government through a war and not a system of democracy through elections as applied Malaysia today.
Job also not dismiss the possibility of some Malaysian students in countries located near Syria and Iraq joined the ISIS.
Allegedly, some of the students were undergoing military training of the current ISIS especially semester holidays and other free time.
